LazyExams Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out how you may use the LazyExams website and services. By accessing or using LazyExams you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using our services.

1. About LazyExams

LazyExams is an online education platform providing exam practice, AI-powered feedback, and related study tools. Our mission is to help students learn effectively and improve their results.

2. Changes to these Terms

We may update or revise these Terms at any time. Please review them regularly, as continuing to use LazyExams means you accept any changes.

3. Accounts & Information

  • You may need to register and create an account to access some features.
  • You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and must not share them with others.
  • You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Use of the Website

You may only use LazyExams for lawful personal study. You must not:

  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code.
  • Use LazyExams for spam, advertising, or commercial exploitation without permission.
  • Harass, impersonate, or cause harm to other users.
  • Use the platform in a way that breaches any law or regulation.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these rules.

5. Intellectual Property & Protection

  • LazyExams owns and controls all rights in its platform, including design, code, features, AI-driven evaluation methods, and study frameworks. This includes our proprietary DrawReasonAITM technology, which has been filed with the UK Intellectual Property Office and is protected under intellectual property law, with further rights pending review.
  • All LazyExams concepts, branding, algorithms, and educational gamification models are safeguarded through copyright, trade secrets, and pending intellectual property applications. Any unauthorised copying, reproduction, reverse engineering, or development of similar systems may constitute infringement and will be treated as a serious violation of our rights.
  • We actively monitor for misuse and reserve the right to take immediate legal action against individuals or organisations attempting to replicate, imitate, or exploit our platform or proprietary methods without explicit permission.
  • You are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use LazyExams for personal study only. All other rights remain strictly reserved.

6. Membership & Payments

Some features (such as AI Marking and advanced feedback) are only available to Basic, Plus and Pro members. Payments are processed securely through third-party providers. We may suspend access if payments are not completed or refunded.

7. Uploading Content

If you upload drawings, answers, or other content:

  • You confirm the content is your own work or that you have permission to use it.
  • You grant LazyExams a licence to use the content for marking, analysis, and service improvement.
  • You must not upload or draw illegal, offensive, or harmful content.

8. Educational use only

LazyExams is an independent study platform. Content and tools on the site are for private revision and practice. They do not replace teaching at school, official exam-board guidance, or a qualified tutor. You remain responsible for checking official specifications, dates, and rules with the relevant exam board.

9. No affiliation with exam boards

LazyExams is not owned by, endorsed by, or officially connected with AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, Cambridge, or any other awarding organisation. Names of exam boards and qualifications appear only so you can find the right practice. Those names and marks belong to their owners.

10. Third-party exam materials

Past papers, mark schemes, and similar documents belong to the exam boards and other rights holders that created them. LazyExams does not claim those materials as its own. Where we point you to a paper, we do so to help you practise. Always treat the exam board’s published version as the authoritative source if anything differs.

11. Accuracy

We take care with questions, feedback, and study tools, but we do not warrant that every item is complete, current, or free of error. Syllabuses and mark schemes change. Do not rely on LazyExams as your only source for an exam decision.

12. PDF files, checksums and external downloads

LazyExams does not host past-paper PDF files for you to download from our servers. Where a paper is available, we aim to send you to a recommended external link — typically the exam board’s official site or another source we have checked — rather than serving the file from LazyExams.

To reduce the risk of a student opening a PDF that has been swapped or tampered with on a public website (including files that could contain malware or a trojan), LazyExams stores a file checksum (a digital fingerprint) for papers we have verified. We use that checksum to help confirm that a file matches the version we checked. That is a protective measure. It is not a guarantee that every file on the internet is safe.

We have no control over external websites, their servers, or PDF files once they leave those sites. Links can break, pages can change, and files on other people’s servers can be altered after we last checked them. If you are concerned about viruses or other harm:

  • scan the file with up-to-date antivirus software before opening it; or
  • do not download or open the PDF.

By using recommended download links you accept that LazyExams is not responsible for the content, safety, or availability of any third-party file or website.

13. AI marking disclaimer

LazyExams offers AI marking and related feedback (including DrawReasonAITM and the AI Tutor) as a study aid. Marks, comments, and suggested next steps are generated by software. They may be incomplete, incorrect, or different from how a human examiner would mark the same work.

AI marking is not an official exam result, not a predicted grade from an awarding body, and not a substitute for a teacher. You should not treat an AI score as proof of what you will achieve in a real exam. Always check important answers against the official mark scheme and, where needed, a qualified person.

You use AI marking at your own risk. To the fullest extent allowed by law, LazyExams is not liable for decisions, grades, school reports, or exam outcomes based on AI feedback.

14. Availability

We aim to keep LazyExams available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features, token allowances, and content may change.

15. Limitation of liability

You use LazyExams, recommended links, PDF downloads, and AI marking entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, LazyExams and its operators shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from:

  • your use of, or inability to use, the website or services;
  • errors, gaps, or delays in questions, mark schemes, or AI feedback;
  • reliance on AI marks, comments, or study suggestions;
  • third-party websites, external links, or PDF files (including malware, trojans, or other harmful content);
  • exam results, school assessments, or any academic or financial decision you make after using the platform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

16. General

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may also bring claims in their local courts where the law allows.
  • If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest will remain enforceable.
  • Failure to enforce a right does not mean we waive that right.
